• National high school flag football rankings: USA TODAY Sports Super 25, Week 4 (usatoday.com) — JSerra Catholic of San Juan Capistrano has climbed to No. 1 in USA TODAY's national high school flag football rankings after staying undefeated through a grueling five-game week. Sophomore quarterback Kate Meier is leading the Lions' explosive offense, including a 288-yard, four-touchdown performance against Santa Margarita. The list also tracks how other California and national powers are chasing JSerra's new top spot.
   

• Orange County is popular with international high school students (ocregister.com) — Capistrano Valley Christian Schools in San Juan Capistrano has built a 20-year international student program that now makes up about 10% of its enrollment and has expanded AP classes, robotics and even badminton. Families from around the world choose Orange County, and especially this local campus, for a less rigid academic environment and stronger English skills. Administrators say these students enrich classrooms while also bringing in tuition that supports broader offerings.
