Outreach Organization Text Kills® To Discuss Upcoming K-Jam Event To Raise Awareness About Distracted Driving Live On KX 93.5 FM Laguna Beach, Monday, February 18

Laguna Niguel-based organization Text Kills® will join KX93.5, Laguna Beach’s only FM station, Monday, February 18 at 8:00 AM to discuss their upcoming K-JAM Wild Hearts Concert. Representing Text Kills® is Ryan Foland, who will also be joined by the recently announced emcee for the event, entertainment personality Ryland Adams.
The K-Jam Wild Hearts concert, which takes place Saturday, February 23 at the Kaleidoscope Center in Mission Viejo, CA, follows the success of last year’s original K-JAM concert. The event features the talented and acclaimed bands Crown Valley Parkway, Juice Box Bandits, False Puppet, Ugly Paint, and Later Days, who will be coming together to entertain the crowd and raise awareness about important issues affecting teens today, particularly distracted driving and text-bullying. Text Kills was founded in 2010 by app development company Iconosys, Inc. to help spread such issues, and since then they have gotten over 75,000 people to sign their Text Kills tour bus pledging not to text and drive or engage in bullying.
Text Kills® will discuss how K-JAM came to be and why they believe that “teens delivering to teens” is the best way to raise awareness and encouragement community interaction. They will also talk about why they chose the performing bands and the emcee for the event, the featured raffle of musical equipment (including a Fender Starcaster guitar pack) donated by event sponsor Guitar Center of Lake Forest, and the other event sponsors, which includes Monster Offers (OTCBB: MONT), Fan Apps ™, Iconosys, Inc., Bully Buster USA™, Pete’s Music, OC WEEKLY, Case Sandberg Photography, California Krav Maga, the Travel Orange County Visitor Guide, MasterDrive, Impact Teen Driving, and INDIE 104FM, who will be broadcasting the event live. The California Highway Patrol is also sponsoring the event, viewing it as an effective means of spreading safe driving practices amongst teens.

“I think that reaching out to teen drivers through this rock concert is a unique and creative way to deliver this important message to the age group that is statistically most prone to distracted driving,” said Chris Goodwin, Public Information Officer for the California Highway Patrol. “It is great to see the youth come together to spread the message of driving safely and making a pledge to not engage in distracted driving.”
