Community Corner

Preppin' and Praisin' at Stoneybrooke Christian Schools

On Thursday, February 21st, all students from both elementary schools (San Juan Capistrano and Ladera Ranch) and the junior high school (over 400 students in all) assembled on the San Juan campus for a special day of activities which included packing 20,000 meals for need kids in Haiti with the assistance of an organization called Kids Around the World.  After an hour long chapel with a special speaker, the students were broken into two sections with all grades mixed together.  While one group ate lunch, the other group packed meals.  After 45 minutes the groups switched places.

After all of the packing the student body assembled in the gym to watch some basketball games between boys from the two elementary schools and some of our staff versus the junior high boys basketball team.

The last activity of the day involved all students writing a letter to a serviceman or woman which will be mailed shortly.

All in all it was a wonderful day: kids had a great time, meals were packed, games played, and letters written.  The administration is considering making this an annual event!!
