Stoneybrooke Christian Preschool Helps a Family in Need

Preschoolers at Stoneybrooke Christian Preschool in San Juan Capistrano showed the true spirit of Christmas this week.

Learning about a family in need through a parent at the school, preschool families were quick to donate gifts and make generous contributions to a single mom and her three teenage girls who would have otherwise gone without this holiday season.

"We put up a 'Giving Wreath' with several tags hanging for each member of the adopted family," Director Kathryn O'Brien said. "Our Stoneybrooke parents were quick to respond, helping their little ones pull tags, shop, wrap, and bring the gifts to school."

Presents will be donated over the weekend to the teenage girls and their mom, recently hit with joblessness and eviction.

"We're all feeling the stress of the current financial climate, but it is wonderful to see that so many people are still so loving and kind. The gifts may be smaller this year, but they are given with just as much joy," O'Brien said.

"And our preschoolers got to share in that joy... You are never too young to learn that giving is better than receiving!"
