Association of California School Administrators

My concern as a Taxpayer and parent, is that we have District that is spending large amounts of money on technology and professional development that may not be benefiting students, as much as business interest of Trustee Lynn-Hatton-Hodson. Decisions on technology spending seem to be based on ACSA (Association of California School Administrators), and not a Board of Trustees and a District that has a clear technology plan that is designed to improve student learning. There is an obvious Conflict of Interest here. With flat funding for 14 years; and employee compensation that is 89% of CUSD's budget, maybe money would be better spent to reduce class sizes, restore lost instructional time, broaden course offerings (Geometry Honors would be a good start - every district offers that class), and to get rid of CCP/Health so that A-G completion rates improve. Facilities have not been maintained for 15 years which is why CUSD is asking for a $2 billion dollar facilities bond.

Taxpayers deserve an audit of CUSD.

Capistrano has a contract with Hobson Naviance and has embedded Naviance into Core Educational classes like English and Social Studies.
