Biker Airlifted From Ortega Highway Crash
A crash between a truck and a motorcyclist shut down Ortega Highway New Year's Day: BREAKING.

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CA โ Ortega Highway was shut down New Yearโs Day following a crash between a motorcyclist and a truck.
A biker in his late 20s suffered traumatic injuries in the collision and had to be airlifted to Mission Hospital, said Captain Larry Kurtz of the Orange County Fire Authority.
โWe closed down both directions of Ortega Highway to land the helicopter,โ Kurtz said.

The crash happened shortly before 11:45 a.m. Monday 12 miles east of the Golden State (1-5) Freeway near the Cleveland National Forest Fire Station. The rodway was reopened by 1:15 p.m.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash.
