Get ready to celebrate! With 40 years of bus service beneath our belts, we at OCTA would like to thank our customers, and encourage new riders, with a free bus pass during the week of June 18.
Get ready to celebrate! With 40 years of bus service beneath our belts, we at OCTA would like to thank our customers, and encourage new riders, with a free bus pass during the week of June 18.
In 1972, OCTA began service with eight buses and three routes. Forty years later, the fleet has grown to 550 buses and 77 routes that serve more than 170,000 passengers a day.
As part of the anniversary celebration, the public is encouraged to pledge online June 18-22 to forgo the gas pump during Dump the Pump week and take the bus, train, carpool, ride a bike, walk or telecommute. Those who pledge will receive a coupon for a free one-day bus pass.
