Red Light, Green Light: New Signal at Oso Road and Camino Capistrano
Don't get caught running a red light! A new traffic signal was installed at the intersection of Oso Road and Camino Capistrano.
Don’t get caught running a red light! Recently, a new traffic signal was installed at the intersection of Oso Road and Camino Capistrano. This signal replaced the flashing red light signal that was previously at the location.
Since it is no longer a flashing red light, drivers must wait at the white line located before the railroad tracks–or risk getting a ticket.
The traffic signal was installed as part of OCTA’s rail safety enhancement program that is upgrading safety measures at 50 crossings across the county. This new light will help prevent traffic from backing up onto the railroad tracks.

Construction at the five crossings in the city is expected to be completed by the end of the year. Once upgraded, the city will be able to apply for quiet zone status, meaning train horns will not routinely sound through the area.
