The only thing you really need to know If your child wants the option of attending a 4-year selective University:
- They need to complete Algebra I, Geometry and Algebra 2 by the end of the 11th grade (recommend 10th grade) so that they can score well on their College Entrance exams.
- They need to complete all the A-G requirements.
- GPA- Students need to show "rigor" in 9th and 10th Grade by taking Honors classes; and then show above a 4.0 GPA in 10th and 11th by taking AP classes- CUSD does not provide sufficient honors classes for 9th and 10th grade students to show rigor. CUSD students are at a great disadvantage to their peers in Orange County and the world due to a lack of honors classes.
EAP Data:
EAP data shows that ONLY 3% of 11th grade students are college ready in Algebra 2 by the end of 11th grade-

A-G Completion Rate:
A-G Completion Rate in CUSD is 52.5% which means 47.5% of students will have no option but to go to Community College or pursue a career after graduating from CUSD.
