Capistrano Beach Closed Due to High Surf

Aliso Beach is also shut down. The closures may last through Monday.

The high surf this week forced the closure of twoĀ Orange County beaches today.

Capistrano Beach's parking lot at 35005 Beach Road in Dana Point was closed becauseĀ the high surf damaged a wooden boardwalk and some steps, OrangeĀ County Parks spokeswoman Marisa O'Neil said.

"Today the surges are coming up higher again so the staff decided toĀ close the beach completely,'' O'Neil said. "There's a fair amount of debrisĀ being washed up.''
