Capistrano Coast NCL give Scholarship Awards
Capistrano Coast National Charity League Recognizes 19 Chapter Member for Presidential Volunteer Services Award Winners

May 20, 2018: The Capistrano Coast Chapter of National Charity League (NCL) handed out President’s Volunteer Service Awards (PVSA) to 19 Capistrano Coast Chapter of NCL and awarded $1,500 college scholarships to 3 high school senior ladies graduating from local high schools and Members at their annual awards presentation at the Dana Point Ocean Institute.
Jodi Most, president of Capistrano Coast Chapter of NCL, handed out 19 President’s Volunteer Service Awards. These girls have volunteered a minimum of 75 or 100 community service hours, depending upon their age, at any non-profit organization, NCL and non-NCL, for the period of April 1, 2017 through March 31, 2018. The Gold PVSA was awarded to Mia Carrillo, Sophie Kharileh, and Isabelle Shaver. The Silver PVSA was awarded to Soleil Berkson, Erin Levinson, Emily Presley, Helena Shaver, and Hayley Weidhaas. The Bronze PVSA was awarded to Katherine Bacino, Carina Barad, Gabriella Dalgaard, Emiko Honda, Delaney Hunt, Carissa Long, Kayla Queen, Claire Mahaffey, Ava Quinn, Sierra Rustman, and Sydney Wiederkehr.
Three local high school seniors, Michelle Liu and Ashlea Howard from Capistrano Valley High and Makena Spencer from San Clemente High School were awarded $1,500 in scholarship money for outstanding service and academic achievement.

Capistrano Coast Chapter of NCL members logged over 4,700 services hours for their 2017-2018 year. Mia Carrillo was awarded the Merci Award, the student with the most service hours in one year. Mia Carrillo served 105 hours.
National Charity League, Inc., Capistrano Coast is a mother/daughter organization dedicated to serving 28 local philanthropies while fostering the mother/daughter relationship. Members commit to a six-year program, from 7th through 12 grades, centered on community service. They participate in philanthropic work, educational activities, leadership development, and cultural enrichment. the Capistrano Coast Chapter of NCL was honored as the Most Outstanding Chapter by its national organization in 2010 and 2015. The Capistrano Coast Chapter of NCL represents the areas of San Clemente, San Juan Capistrano, Dana Point, Laguna Niguel, Laguna Beach, Aliso Viejo, Laguna Hills, Ladera Ranch and Mission Viejo.
