The District just gave an 8% across the board compensation increase to all employees. If the district does not have money for substitute teachers, teaching training and staff development then CUSD does not have money for raises.
Relying on fundraising to pay for core educational programs is causing wealth based inequities in the quality of education students receive. Donations and fundraising should be used to pay for things that are beyond the minimum curriculum and is illegal.

FYI- everyone who is currently fundraising for primary music will need to fundraise an additional 8% to cover the compensation increases given to those employees.
Is it fair to taxpayers and the public to be forced to fundraise for employee compensation increases and to pay for core educational programs that are mandated by the state as a "minimum" education?
