Capistrano Unified School District 2020-21 LCAP PAC Applications Now Open

The State of California’s education funding model requires the development of a Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) that links spending to specific district goals for student achievement to improve student outcomes.

A key aspect of the LCAP process is the engagement of parents/guardians, including those representing foster, low-income, and English learner students in providing input and feedback. This is facilitated through the formation of a Parent Advisory Committee (PAC). The LCAP PAC will meet to review the sections of the LCAP and provide input into the monitoring and revision of the LCAP. The focus will be on discussing actions that are aligned to state and local priorities to increase student academic achievement and performance. An emphasis will be on meeting annual goals for all students, including foster, low income, and English learners. CUSD has a strong record of parent/guardian engagement and is excited to continue its partnership with parents and guardians to guide the district’s actions for the coming years.

El modelo de fondos de educación del Estado de California, requiere el desarrollo de un Plan de Control Local y Responsabilidad (LCAP por sus siglas en inglés) que conecte los gastos con los objetivos específicos del distrito para lograr las metas y el mejorar el rendimiento académico de los estudiantes.

Un aspecto importante del proceso de LCAP es la participación de los padres o representantes legales; incluyendo a aquellos que representan a estudiantes en hogares temporales, de bajos ingresos, y aprendices del idioma inglés, para que brinden su opinión y sugerencias. Esto será posible con la formación de un Comité Asesor de Padres (PAC por sus siglas en inglés). Estos comités LCAP y PAC se reunirán regularmente para revisar las secciones de LCAP y proporcionar sus opiniones en el monitoreo y revisión de LCAP. La atención se centrará en discutir sobre las acciones que estarán alineadas con las prioridades estatales y locales para incrementar el desarrollo y rendimiento académico de los estudiantes. El énfasis será cumplir con las metas anuales de todos los estudiantes, incluyendo estudiantes en un hogar temporal, de bajos ingresos y aprendices del idioma inglés. Los padres o representantes legales de CUSD tiene un sólido record de participación y CUSD se complace en continuar trabajando junto con los padres y representantes legales para guiar las acciones del distrito durante los próximos años.
