Capistrano Valley Christian Schools' Enrollment Climbs; Registration Continues with New Classes Added

Capistrano Valley Christian Schools (CVCS) heads into the 2015-2016 school year with an overall ten percent increase in students

Capistrano Valley Christian Schools (CVCS) heads into the 2015-2016 school year with an overall ten percent increase in students from two years ago, keeping a consistent growth pattern over the past few years. This is attributed to small class sizes, which allows for more individualized student attention, its overall curriculum, and innovative programs, including being the first school in California to implement digital textbooks for its high school students with its one-to-one laptop program. The addition of more classes allows enrollment to continue through the summer for all grade levels.

The uptick in student enrollment comes at a time when some private Christian schools across the nation struggle to keep doors open or have had to close. “Parents are looking for a school where teachers have the ability to take time to help each and every student in the class,” said Admissions Director Mrs. Jo Beveridge, adding that classroom teachers aides gives the instructors even more flexibility with their ability to work one-on-one with students. “Our capacity to encourage all students with our strong academic curriculum has a very positive draw (on enrollment).”

CVCS currently has 15% more students in its elementary school than last year, and 10% more students in high school. The school anticipates a total of enrollment of 460 students from Kindergarten through high school for the 2015-2016 school year.

Building on its reputation over the past 40-plus years, word-of-mouth keeps attracting parents who seek a strong Christian foundation along with exemplary educational standards for their children, said Beveridge.

Among the many educational programs at CVCS is the MIND Institute that enables elementary students to understand math concepts at a younger age and programs that emphasize music and technology. CVCS also stays on the cutting-edge of in-classroom technology, too.
