Check It Out: Wyland Brings the Ocean to Malcom Elementary
Marine life artist Wyland and students at Malcom Elementary teamed up for an unforgetable celebration of the school's 20th anniversary.
Students at Malcom Elementary School in Laguna Niguel were treated to a once-in-a-lifetime experience Wednesday, painting a life-sized marine mural along side famed muralist Wyland.
Wyland donated his time and work in honor of the school’s 20th anniversary.

“The acclaimed artist, based in Laguna Beach, is known worldwide for promoting environmental conservation through his colorful and large-scale outdoor paintings depicting whales and ocean life,” Capistrano Unified School District spokesman Alan Trudell said in a written statement. “Wyland is considered one of the most influential artists of the 21st Century, with artwork in museums, corporate collections, and private homes in more than 100 countries.”
