Chula Vista Takes First Place at ‘Battle of the Mariachis’

Under warm blue skies on Saturday, the “Battle of The Mariachis” started at 11 a.m.

Mission San Juan Capistrano Executive Director Mechelle Lawrence Adams offered the welcome and introductions. Laura Sobrino served as emcee.

National Anthem by Capistrano Community Mariachi performed the national anthem. The Mission had an all-time attendance of more than 6,000 people.  

The event was located in the grass courtyard at the Mission with many taking advantage of the courtyard overhang seeking shade.

Mariachi Chula Vista of San Diego took first place.
