Connecting Communities: La Pata Gap Connector Opening in San Juan Capistrano
The long awaited La Pata Gap Connector is opening this weekend, "from the canyons to the coast." Orange County Public Works invite you out.

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CAโThe La Pata Gap Connector, a section of road that will complete the connection between San Juan Capistrano and San Clemente will open this weekend. Before you can drive on it, residents are invited to come on out and take a stroll over the pristine blacktop.
The ribbon cutting celebration will take place Saturday, Aug. 13 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will include a car show, vendor booths, food trucks, free give aways, live entertainment, as well as exhibits and displays.
According to the city of San Juan Capistrano, "Parking will be available at San Juan Hills Highs School parking lot with free shuttle service to and from the event site."

The La Pata Gap Connector will be open to the public beginning Monday, August 15th.

"The La Pata Avenue/Camino Del Rio Extension Project is designed to complete the planned improvements for La Pata Avenue and Camino Del Rio, as identified in the County of Orange Master Plan of Arterial Highways," the Department of Public Works stated on their website. "The improvements will reduce congestion and improve regional mobility in South Orange County by providing a north-south alternative to Interstate 5 between Ortega Highway to the north and Avenida Vista Hermosa to the south."
