COX CARES FOUNDATION TO AWARD $40,000 IN GRANTS TO ORANGE COUNTY AND PALOS VERDES NON-PROFITS
San Juan Capistrano-based non-profit received $5,000 for holiday gift program for military families in 2014

The Cox Cares Foundation (Cox Cares) will award $40,000 in grants to Orange County and Palos Verdes non-profit organizations to support initiatives that focus on youth, education, conservation and the military. Applications are currently being accepted online at www.cox-cares.org and must be submitted by 5 p.m. on Aug. 25, 2015.
In 2014, Cox Cares awarded grants to 12 Orange County and Palos Verdes non-profit organizations. Homefront America, based in San Juan Capistrano, received a $5,000 grant for its Gifts for Little Unsung Heroes program. This program provided children stationed in nearby military bases with holiday gifts including toys and clothing.
The Cox Cares Foundation Advisory Board, made up of 14 Cox employee volunteers, will consider requests up to $5,000.

In order to apply, organizations must meet the following qualifications:
- Be a 501(c)3 non-profit organization;
- Be located or provide services in Orange County;
- Show measurable results from the program and complete a post grant evaluation form;
- Provide information on program outreach components including website and social media.
