CUSD to Discuss Very Controversial Sex Education Curriculum

Why are "POLITICAL ADVOCACY ORGANIZATIONS" allowed to write state mandated sex education curriculum?

AB329 the California Healthy Youth Act was written by Assemblymember Shirley Weber and sponsored by the ACLU of California, California Latinas for Reproductive Justice, Equality California, Forward Together and Planned Parenthood Affiliates of California.

CUSD students are not doing very well in core subjects like Math and English so why are we wasting instructional time on a controversial sex education curriculum?

Word on the street is that Districts who don't "CHOOSE" to teach this curriculum are then sued by the ACLU?

The ACLU sponsored this Bill- does anyone see a problem here?

How would these groups feel if California invited the NRA to write school safety policies and then threatened to sue any district that did not "CHOOSE" to adopt their policies regarding guns on campus?

Take Politics out of the Public Education System.

This is not about education... this is about indoctrination- they want to teach comprehensive sex education beginning in Kindergarten through 12th grade.

CUSD can CHOOSE to eliminate Health as a "CLASS" and eliminate Health as a "Graduation Requirement". They can embed the minimum required Health curriculum into another class such as Tutorial- PE- Science - Social Studies.

If CUSD CHOOSES to keep Health as a stand alone class required for graduation you have the right to opt your child out. And, you always have the right to remove your child from California's Public Education System all together.

OPT OUT of Comprehensive Sex Education - it is your right under the law.

Districts must allow parents to remove their student from Instruction if they so choose.

Parents must make this request in writing.
