CUSD should Fix Tesoro High School Transcripts and School Profile

Tesoro High School students may not be receiving the bump in GPA that they are entitled to. Fix the transcripts so that every student has the best opportunity to get into a great college and earn merit money.

This Item was pulled by Trustee Martha McNicholas

The Board voted by a vote of 7-0 to eliminate "IDEA" in Tesoro High School Transcripts and name the classes Honors Biology and Honors World History.

Staff needs to correct the Transcript and School Profile to reflect the vote of the Board of Trustees and ensure that these students get the academic bump they are entitled to.

Statement by Josh Hill: "IDEA is no longer used"

The school profile needs to be changed to look like this:

Transcripts for Tesoro High School students graduating this year 2018-19 should NOT have the word "IDEA" on them.

That was the direction of the Board on August 22, 2018.

If this is not changed, some school may not accept this as honors coursework and recalculate the GPA downward.
