District Funds should not be used to pay attorneys fees for Conflict of Interest investigations. Those should be paid by the responsible individual.
At the September 28, 2016 BOT meeting CUSD is retaining Olson Hagel & Fishburn LLP to:
"Provide legal services regarding Fair Political Practices Commission matters and related advice.".

This is a Direct Conflict of Interest and Trustee Hatton-Hodson should step down from this Board immediately.

Trustee Lynn Hatton Form 700 filed 3/1/16 - There is no page three to this Form 700 and on Schedule A-2 #3 she has checked None where it asks her to list the name of each reportable single source of income of $10,000 or more. In the previous two statements she lists InnovateEd (her company) and the Districts she worked with Newport-Mesa and Huntington Beach Unified.
InnovateEd has grown to over $2.4 million because of InnovateEd's partnership with ACSA and Systems Leadership Collaborative which was not disclosed on the most recent Form 700.
