The elimination of CCP (which Trustees are expected to do) plus the elimination of Health as a stand alone class required for graduation would provide all high school students with a year long block which would allow them to take an A-G course or other core educational class required for college entrance. Right now High School students wishing to be accepted into a 4-year college are being forced to take two years of summer school to complete Health and CCP in order to complete their required course work.

CALL TO ACTION: Advocate for the Elimination of both CCP and Health, as a stand alone class required for graduation.
One other benefit of eliminating Health as a stand alone class required for graduation is that CUSD would not be required to teach "Teen Talk" aka Comprehensive Sexual Health. CUSD plans to teach this curriculum in all grades K-12.

STAFF WANTS TO KEEP BOTH THESE CLASSES - GRANT MONEY and STUDENT DATA MINING and to keep CCP teachers on staff- some of the most tenured and highly paid teachers at CUSD. It is time for CUSD to do what is in the best interest of the students.
