  • Kern County Superintendent of $37,903.11 (?)

This totals $3,356,679 in discretionary spending.

CUSD has made a choice to give employees 4-years of across the board compensation increases totally over $120 million dollars. Employee compensation now makes up 89% of CUSD's total budget. ALL EMPLOYEES RECEIVED AN 8.67% COMPENSATION INCREASE THIS YEAR ALONE.

CUSD has made the choice to spend millions of dollars on technology to implement common core. This month alone $2 million.

As a result of all the technology - Utility bills are sky rocketing.

CUSD makes these choices while our students attend school in substandard facilities that have not been fixed or maintained for 15 years.

CUSD makes these choices while our class sizes are the largest in the nation.

CUSD makes these choices while our kids have no art, music or science unless parents fundraise for it.

CUSD makes these choices while we have no honors classes (every school district has Geometry Honors).

CUSD makes these choices because they have a secret agenda -

CUSD has made the decision to make CCP a graduation requirement so that EVERY child must complete this course.

CUSD has made the decision to embed Naviance Family into CCP and in other core educational courses so that our students can be subjected to personality testing an data mining so that some educational elite cult can determine what path is right for your child.

Naviance was a college tool that was used to help students track their college applications and ensure they did not miss deadlines. My son took Naviance at his Private School (not as a class) but as a tool. It was an opt in and some families chose not to participate. So when I found out that Naviance is now going to be embeded into CUSD school curriculum from kindergarten to college- and every student is required to be subjected to personality testing without an ability to opt out- and Naviance Family will also track want is entered into a home computer - well the conclusion is that our kids will never have a privacy right as an adult because they will have been tracked since kindergarten. They will be directed to certain pathways. Students may be denied an opportunity to grow into the person they want to be because some computer person determine dtheir destiny based on data.

My son was a high level swimmer and soccer player until age 13 at which point he chose to quit swimming and just play soccer. At 14 he discovered Lacrosse and quit soccer to play lacrosse. Future children may not have the luxury of changing their minds because data will determine their course. All of my son's swim team mates are high level swimmers at major colleges. Under this system he may have been limited to swimming rather than playing the sport he loves now- lacrosse (but never discovered until he was older). Once CUSD chooses a path for your child they may never be able to change direction. Is that really what we want for our kids?

Common core implementation started in 2012-13, and since that time CUSD math scores have dropped substantially. Parents have the right to question the direction of this District and the way it spends taxpayer dollars. Look at the math scores-

Then the State of California hid 15 years of test data and changed all the testing so the public would be clueless about the dropping test scores.

Read this mans resume and tell me - do you really need to prepare for college in Pre-K?

Look at the connections between Trustee Lynn Hatton-Hodson's company InnovateEd and ACSA and the partnerships- CUSD contracts with all these firms.
