Driver Plunges 150 Feet Down Ortega Highway Cliff and Survives
A man in his 30s is in moderate condition after being pulled up by hand in a basket and airlifted to a trauma center.

Firefighters Monday rescued a man whose car went off Ortega Highway and about 150-feet down an embankment.
A man in his 30s was taken out by a basket hauled by hand up from the crash site about 15 miles east of Interstate 5. He was then taken to a trauma center by helicopter, says Capt. Steve Concialdi of the Orange County Fire Authority. The man was wearing a seat belt, or he would not have survived, Concialdi said. He is listed in moderate condition.
