Few Takers for City's Amnesty Program
San Juan Capistrano's business license incentive program ends Nov. 15.

Few San Juan Capistrano businesses are taking advantage of an amnesty program designed to rope them into obtaining licenses.
Since May, only three have opted into the temporary incentive program, said City Manager Karen Brust.
Licenses are required of anyone who does business in city limits, from those who rent out their homes to arts and crafts teachers.

The city is willing to temporarily forgive those who have not obtained licenses in the past if they secure one before Nov. 15.

In the last fiscal year business licenses generated $229,154 in revenue for the city.
