'Field Of Honor' Returns To Mission San Juan Capistrano

More than 400 American flags will be on display at Mission San Juan Capistrano starting May 24.

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CA — Orange County residents looking to pay their respects to military members, veterans and first responders across the United States this Memorial Day can visit the Field of Honor at Mission San Juan Capistrano starting May 24 to see more than 400 American flags on display.

The Field of Honor is held in partnership with Mission San Juan Capistrano and Homefront America. From May 24 to May 30, more than 400 American flags will stand proud in the Mission's courtyard in honor of military, veterans and first responders across the nation, the Mission said in a statement.

Orange County residents can sponsor individuals flags to honor a specific service member, veteran or first responder in their life, with sponsorships starting at $50 a flag.

Active duty, veterans and first responders — as well as Mission Preservation Society Members — will receive free entry to the Mission while the exhibit is up.

The Field of Honor will be displayed during the Mission's general operating hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. from May 24 through May 30. The Mission will remain open on Monday in honor of Memorial Day, and residents are encouraged to stop by from 10 a.m. through 3 p.m.
