Flood Advisory For Orange County: Turn Around, Don't Drown, NWS Says

A flood advisory was released in Orange County for small and urban streams, the National Weather Service said.

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CA โ€” The National Weather Service in San Diego has issued an Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for Southeastern Orange County in southwestern California until 4 p.m.

"At just after 1 p.m. the National Weather Service doppler radar indicated heavy rain showers moving into the lower Inland Empire and Temecula Valley extending through northwest San Diego County," they said in release.

Rainfall rates of 0.25 to 0.50 per hour are possible with the strongest storms and isolated thunderstorms.

This rainfall is enough to produce urban and street flooding especially in poor drainage areas.

"Turn around, don t drown when encountering flooded roads," they NWS reminded. "Most flood deaths occur in vehicles."
