At last nights CUSD Board meeting, oral communication was dominated by students and parents of San Juan Hills High School in support of the school newspaper's expose on "Relationships & Sex in High School".
There are limits on Free Speech!

Yes; but if those words create a panic and people rush out of the building and someone is injured, the individual who chose to utter those words will be responsible for any damage or injury caused by their speech.
Every person who spoke to this issue last night, seemed to think that they have a right to say whatever they want without consequence.

If anyone is punished as a result of the expose, they will not being punished for the words that were written. They will be punished for failing to help students understand that there are consequences to their speech.
Maybe the school newspaper is not the appropriate venue for an expose on Relationships & Sex in High School that feature headlines like "Popping the Cherry of the Virginity Myth", "Do I look Slutty?" and "Let's Talk about sex, baby..."
Maybe the study of the US Constitution needs to go back into the classroom.
