The Los Rios District is one of San Juan Capistrano's most charming areas, and these photos by an OC resident photographer prove just that.

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CA — Have you taken a trip to the Los Rios District in San Juan Capistrano lately? This charming little community is home to cafes, artisan shops and plenty of natural beauty.

Laguna Beach resident photographer Susana Cruciana took a visit to Los Rios District Wednesday and captured that scenic beauty with her phone on a bright springtime day.
This gem of a district lies directly across the railroad tracks from the Capistrano Depot. The Los Rios District is the oldest neighborhood in California, and the forty homes that stand there include three original adobe structures, according to the Los Rios District's website.

"To walk the streets of the Los Rios District is to recapture the tranquillity of the slower pace of life that existed before the turn of the century and before. It was not long ago that the streets were still dirt," An excerpt from the website reads.
"Willow trees grow among eucalyptus and palm. Cactus and wildflowers grow beneath sprays of bouganvia. You can hear the hum of insects that a writer in the 1800's wrote about and feel the haunting presence of those who lived in that time."
