Get Street Smarter At Free E-Bike Safety Training: Save The Date

Assemblywoman Laurie Davies is hosting a bike safety course in Dana Point, and San Juan Capistrano residents are encouraged to RSVP today.

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CA — Summer vacation is just a few short months away, and Orange County local officials and authorities are hosting an event designed to keep the streets safe all summer long.

Assemblywoman Laurie Davies is hosting a free e-bike safety course in partnership with the cities of San Juan Capistrano, San Clemente and Dana Point on May 14, and residents big and small are invited to join.

At the event, residents speak to local authorities and learn vital information about staying safe on roadways, trails and beaches while riding their bikes or e-bikes.

Representatives from the Orange County Sheriff's Department and the California Highway Patrol will offer instruction on e-bike safety and conduct bicycle assessments and helmet checks at the event.

The first 40 children to arrive to the event will receive a set of bicycle lights, a flyer for the event read. The first 50 children to arrive at the event will receive a free reflective bracelet to wear while biking.

The e-bike safety event runs from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. May 14 at Dana Hills High School, 33333 Golden Lantern. Residents can visit Assemblywoman Laurie Davies's website to RSVP prior to attending.
