High Winds In San Juan Capistrano This Week

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CA — Strong afternoon and evening winds are expected to run rampant across Orange County into Tuesday, and San Juan Capistrano can expect gusts of wind ranging from 30 to 35 miles per hour, according to the National Weather Service.

A beach advisory is also in place for all Orange County beaches, as big swells are expected to reach up to seven feet.

The strong winds are anticipated to blow on through the evening, according to the National Weather Service. The high surf advisory will remain in place until 8 a.m. Tuesday, and inexperienced swimmers should keep out of the water in the meantime.

Residents can prepare themselves for the high winds by securing any outdoor objects near their homes, such as potted plants, patio furniture and trash cans. Tree damage may be possible throughout the winds, and while driving on the freeway, residents should be wary of dangerous crosswinds for large vehicles.
