ORANGE COUNTY, CA — Orange County Fire Authority and Orange County Sheriff's Department helicopters searched for a missing group of hikers in the Cleveland National Forest over the holiday weekend.

Four men were lost and out of water in the heat of the day, according to OCFA Capt. Jon Muir. The two helicopters both responded to a remote rescue on Monday afternoon.

"OCSD's Duke 6 performed the search for the missing hikers," Muir said. "OCFA's Helicopter 2 lowered a rescue medic, who provided water and assistance out of the area.

The names of the men were not released, and no one required medical attention.

Though in the past there has been strife between the two rescue operations, that was not the case in this Labor Day rescue, according to Muir.
