JSerra Boys Defeat Second-Seeded Millikan, 3-2, in Soccer Playoffs

Frankie Bastone scored one goal and had two assists to help the JSerra boys soccer team defeat second-seeded Millikan, 3-2, in a CIF Southern Section Division 1 second-round match Wednesday afternoon at JSerra High.

JSerra scored all its goals in the second half after trailing at intermission, 1-0. Lucas Dall'Orso scored from 18 yards on a throw in by Bastone in the 42nd minute and Dylan Seedman did the same from 30 yards in the 49th minute. 

Bastone's throw in from the 15-yard line hit the side post, then bounced off the back of a Millikan defender and into the goal at the 55th minute for a 3-1 lead.

The Lions (16-5-3), the third-place finishers in the Trinity League, advance to the quarterfinals on Friday, when they will host Santa Barbara, a 1-0 winner over Los Alamitos on Wednesday.
