"Continued progress was made on language issues in both of these articles. Your bargaining team believes that we have almost reached an agreement."
Does there look like there is anything in this agreement that benefits students?
There is no restoration of DISTRICT FUNDED core educational programs like Art, Music or Science.
There is no Class Size Reduction.
They are starting to lay off people due to budget cuts.
Here we go again- using limited resources to protect employee compensation at the expense of everything else.
Maybe Taxpayers and Students should STRIKE.
Our students should not be forced to attend school in facilities that have not been fixed or maintained for 20 years, with staff to student ratios that are not safe. Our schools are 8,555 students over capacity, and we are now stacking our kids up like "Chord Wood" to accommodate all the new dwelling units that are being constructed (not just at the ranch- but elsewhere). Our students are at a disadvantage to their peers in other districts because of a lack of funding (Laguna Beach $17,000 CUSD $9,000). Our curriculum lacks the breadth and depth for our students to compete with their peers in other districts. We have very limited accelerated programing for high achieving students because CUSD is choosing to put resources into other things like Professional Development for teachers, green energy and technology while failing to provide even the minimum core education.
