Listen to the words of a Trustee who doesn't understand that she was elected to represent taxpayers and students

I am the parent/taxpayer who filed a complaint with the District Attorney alleging Conflict of Interest against Trustee Lynn Hatton- Hodson.

On August 30, 2016 CUSD held a special board meeting- all the agenda said was "Conference with legal council- anticipated litigation". This agenda item was intentionally vague so that no member of the general public would have any ability to understand what was going to be discussed. So imagine how surprised I was to see a room filled with educators. HUMMM- how did they know what this meeting was about and why did they decide to take time out of there evening for this particular topic?

There were three members of the general public at the meeting - myself and two other women who attend most CUSD meetings. They assumed that this meeting was about the lawsuit that the district threatened against two city mayors over the $2 billion dollar bond that CUSD tried to sneak onto the November ballot.

CUSD's $10,000.00 Donation to Association of California School Administrators Foundation for Educational Administration leads to more questions than answers.

Two Points:

1) If there was nothing wrong with the conduct of the District regarding the MOU - why was the money returned?

2) If members of the public ever clap or cheer like the teacher do in this audio - we are told to be quiet or we will be escorted out by security. Because this audience was all teachers invited to the meeting to support Trustee Hatton- Hodson, they were treated differently than the general public.

Trustee Hatton-Hodson claims that a Trustee who misses a Board meeting is not responsible to read or be aware of what is on that particular agenda.

Trustee Hatton-Hodson then goes on to tell a story about her work with a troubled teen.

Trustee Hatton-Hodson starts to comment on the time she became a Board member and breaks down. The crowd stands and claps in support of her.

She then continues to talk about teachers and the teachers strike.

Trustee Hatton-Hodson states that her impetus to run for school board came from the fact that she could not get responses to her questions from the sitting Board.

*I want to say that I have been a parent/advocate since 2007-08 and as many letters as I have written to this Board Trustee Hatton-Hodson has never responded to me. I will also say that my Trustee by Area John Alpay has never once responded to me.

Trustee Hatton- Hodson then goes to call anyone who opposes her as "mean, petty and spiteful".

Trustee Hatton -Hodson goes on to insult fellow Board Members that may not agree with her positions.

Trustee Hatton - Hodson goes on to say that she invited the teachers to the Board meeting so that they could hear the truth.

"The Truth is that THEY have no place at OUR table."

*THEY would be the public she was elected to represent and US would be the District Staff and employees who support her.

My first inclination was to resign - but in Debbie's honor I will remain

*HUMM- I wonder how Debbie feels about being publicly identified as a student in the OCASA program mentored by Trustee Hatton-Hodson that was sexually abused. There appears to be a lack of respect for personal information that could identify a particular student.

More clapping and cheering from the teachers in the audience.

Even some screams cheer and whistles that lasted close to a minute without rebuke from the Board

It is my sincere hope that the Taxpayers and Parents in CUSD will make a change in the Board this November.

I am going to support the re-election of Trustee Jim Reardon.

I am going to support the election of Wendy Shrove so that incumbent Trustee Hannacek will be defeated.

I am going to support the election of Laura Fergeuson over Pat Holloway who is a very nice lady, but has not been to a Board meeting in years and was talked into running so that Laura Ferguson would not run un-opposed.

I am going to work to see that Trustee McNicholas is recalled for lying on her Ballot statement.

I am going to work to expose Trustee Hatton-Hodsons business relationships in an effort to get her to step down from the Board, so that we can elect a majority Board of Trustees that will honor their fiduciary duty to taxpayers and students.

And next time Trustee Hatton-Hodsonn and CUSD want to talk about Bullying - they should go back and listen to this Board meeting. Stacked with teachers against me - a single parent and taxpayer.

The teachers Union is endorsing and has donated $10,000.00 to the re-election of Trustee Amy Hannacek and Trustee Gary Pritchard as evidenced below.
