Locals Jet Off to Capitol Hill to Ask for La Pata Funding
A local delegation will meet with federal officials in the hopes of securing money to extend Avenida La Pata from San Juan Capistrano to San Clemente, the Orange County Register reports.

County officials and the mayor of San Clemente will land in Washington D.C. Tuesday to ask for federal money to close the gap in Avenida La Pata.
The $90-million plan to extend and widen the existing 1.8-mile portion of La Pata from San Juan Capistrano to San Clemente at Calle Saluda is severly underfunded.
The Register reported Monday afternoon that San Clemente Mayor Lori Donchak and Fifth District Orange County Supervisor Patricia Bates are making the trek to lobby in Capitol Hill. Read the entire Register story here.
