SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CA โ A brazen break in was reported this week in a San Juan Capistrano neighborhood, in the 30000 block of Imperial Drive. Captured on camera, this suspicious person may have been the one responsible.
Orange County Sheriff's Department investigators are working the burglary which took place the morning of Sept. 12. No one was home at the south San Juan Capistrano residence during the time of the burglary, according to OCSD Watch Commander John Roche.
"Responding officers noticed a front door window was smashed, and the front door ajar," he said.

Cameras on a neighboring house managed to capture a suspicious person in a silver Toyota Tacoma type truck with temporary plates.
The daylight break-in reportedly resulted in the theft of jewelry and electronics taken from the master bedroom of the home, according to Roche. The family took to facebook to report the crime to their neighbors, through community groups and on their personal facebook pages in order to alert all that crimes were being committed.

"He took all my jewelry, including invaluable family heirlooms, my husband's laptop, and other valuables," Angela Bench reported in her post.
According to the Bench family's posts, the thief ransacked the home and took electronics, jewelry and utility knives.
"In theory, he could have taken more, but we think that he was only out for quick things, and was in and out of here in a matter of minutes," she wrote. "Our bedroom, literally, looks like a crime scene as drawers were taken apart and broken and our personal items are all over the floor"
A suspicious person was seen walking around or casing a neighbor's home prior to the break-in on Imperial Drive. This video shows a man with a silver Toyota Tundra truck, with temporary plates casing the south San Juan Capistrano residence just prior to doing the same thing at houses up the street.
"He tried to case my neighbor's house before ours, and was spotted on my neighbor's security camera," she wrote. "At least we have some sort of ID on the guy."
