MBS Students Donate to the Mission Preservation Fund

The first official duty for MBS student council president Sofia Vaquerano and vice president Racquelle Vellandi took place on the beautiful Mission grounds during the final week of school.   These students, escorted by Principal Tina Rolewicz walked through the historic archway just steps from the campus into the main courtyard of the Mission.  With the backdrop of beautiful bougainvilleas, bustling tours and blue skies overhead, the Executive Director of the Mission Mechelle Lawrence Adams welcomed the group with her gracious manner.  The MBS student council sponsors several fundraisers throughout the year such as selling Valentine and Halloween grams as well as sponsoring a Jean’s Day.  The proceeds from these fundraisers go in part to help support the Mission San Juan Capistrano Preservation Fund.    Sofia and Racquelle presented the $250.00 check and were very honored when Mrs. Lawrence Adams allowed them the opportunity to decide which area of preservation to earmark the funds.  To honor their recently retired Athletic Director Pat Forster, Sofia and Racquelle agreed that the funds would help benefit the preservation of the Forster Family Exhibit.    Mission Basilica School is so blessed to be able to play a part in preserving the historic Mission San Juan!
