Missing San Juan Capistrano Man Found In North OC

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CA — Jeffrey Benjamin Waters was dining with his parents midday Saturday, Dec. 30, at a San Juan Capistrano restaurant when he ran away from them toward Ortega Highway. He was found early Wednesday in Garden Grove, according to a Orange County Sheriff's Department spokesperson.

The 38-year-old Waters suffers from mental illness and takes medication daily, according to OCSD. It is unclear how he arrived in Garden Grove.

"He called his family from a CVS in Garden Grove and deputies went and met him there," an OCSD spokesperson said. "He is safe and has been reunited with his parents."
