NCL Raises Over $35,000 In Annual Fashion Show Fundraiser For Local Philanthropies

National Charity League Capistrano Coast Fashion Show Fundraiser raises money for local philanthropies

The Capistrano Coast Chapter of National Charity League, Inc. (NCL) recently held its 16th annual Fashion Show fundraiser at the Laguna Cliffs Marriott Resort & Spa in Dana Point.

The elegant luncheon event attended by over 400 NCL members, families and friends, raised over $35,000. The proceeds from the fundraiser help support the 27 designated philanthropies of the Capistrano Coast Chapter of NCL such as after-school programs, U.S. military support, food banks, and senior citizen activities. Funds are also earmarked for college scholarships given each spring to deserving graduating seniors from the local community. In addition, the NCL mothers (Patronesses) and daughters (Ticktockers) spend thousands of hours of their time serving these charities.

The event co-chairs this year were Kathleen Quinley and Maria Sysyn. Over 2000 hours were dedicated by NCL Capistrano Coast Chapter members securing sponsorship, donations, and offering behind-the-scenes support for the event.

The Fashion Show theme was “Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend”. The room evoked a feeling of old Hollywood with plenty of bling including silver compote bowls holding white hydrangeas and roses as centerpieces. Male models and the NCL Class of 2018 Ticktockers from Crean Lutheran, Dana Hills, JSerra Catholic, Laguna Beach, Mater Dei, Mission Viejo, Rosary Academy, Sage Hill, San Juan Hills, and St. Margaret’s Episcopal high schools, showed off spring fashions from Blue Eyed Girl, Camellia Boutique, Daisy Shoppe, Macy’s, Revital Import Jewelry, Ted Baker of London, Trina Turk and Friar Tux. The NCL models spent hours of rehearsal time with a professional producer and choreographer to deliver a flawless fashion show.

A major sponsor of the event was Lisa Marie Handcrafted Jewelry who generously offered a three-piece Pearl and Labradorite set for the Champagne & Jewelry Raffle. There was also a wine pull, a photo booth and a Giving Tree for those who wanted to make a direct donation to their favorite NCL Capistrano Coast philanthropy.
