Kelly Conk has been named the administrator for the new Orchards Health Center in Rancho Mission Viejo, California. Scheduled to open in October, The Orchards will be South Orange County’s newest assisted living and memory care community. The Orchards is located at 1 Amistad Dr. adjacent to the Reata Glen life plan community.

Assisted living at The Orchards will offer 58 apartments, most with views of the coastal foothills. The community will also have a separate, secured 20-room memory care neighborhood called The Gardens. In addition to assisted living and memory care, The Orchards will open a 71-bed skilled nursing facility in early 2021. The Orchards will provide assisted living, memory care and skilled nursing services to the outside public as well as residents of Reata Glen.

As administrator, Conk will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of The Orchards, including resident and family satisfaction, regulatory compliance, financial management and employee engagement.

“Kelly’s expertise in transitional programs for post-acute healthcare as well as her strong financial and operational experience with health care communities will be critical to the long-term success of The Orchards,” said Suzanne Nasraty, executive director for Reata Glen. “Her solid background in staff relations and talent management will also serve her well while overseeing the daily needs and demands of the health center.”

Assisted living at The Orchards will feature a two-story, grand living room with a fireplace, media room, private dining room for family celebrations, library, conference room, fitness center and restaurant-style dining. Outdoor amenities include a courtyard, trellis, bocce court and water feature. WiFi will be available throughout the entire building.

Full-time wellness nurses, trained caregivers and medication technicians will be on hand 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In light of the coronavirus, The Orchards will have a single point of entry for staff to ensure the health and safety of both residents and employees. All staff will follow strict health and safety measures according to CDC, state and local guidelines.

The Orchards will also have a separate, single point of entry for all visitors, including family members and vendors.

The Gardens memory care neighborhood will offer private rooms with programs designed to meet the needs of residents with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. Outside amenities include a garden and a courtyard with televisions as well as an indoor family lounge for quiet time.

The Orchards is now accepting refundable deposits for assisted living and memory care as part of its Harvest Club. Early depositors will have first choice of apartment units and a rate lock until 2023. For more information, please call 949-545-2260 or go to www.visitorchards.com.
