Park Closures Across Orange County, Due To Bond Fire, Smoke & Ash

Orange County Parks released a list of parks closed during the Santa Ana wind event and extreme fire conditions.

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CA — Orange County Parks have announced closures Thursday due to high Santa Ana winds and explosive fire conditions.

The Bond Fire, which began late Wednesday evening and exploded to over 3,600 acres Thursday morning, has sent smoke smothering much of Orange County.

As such, the Parks Service has announced the following park closures:

  • Irvine
  • Peters Canyon
  • Santiago Oaks regional park
  • O'Neill regional park
  • OC Zoo
  • Irvine Lake
  • Irvine Ranch Open Space
  • Saddleback Gateway
  • Whiting Ranch Wilderness Park
  • Arden Modjeska Historic House and Gardens.

The exact length of the closures is not known as of 10 a.m. Thursday.
