SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CA — Pickleball enthusiasts, grab those rackets. The City of San Juan Capistrano is adding six new pickleball courts to two community parks by March, after the San Juan Capistrano City Council voted to expand on the original plan to add two new courts to the city during its Nov. 2 meeting.

Two pickleball courts taking the place of existing volleyball and basketball courts are set to be added at Cook La Novia Park. In addition, four new pickleball courts will take the place of existing tennis courts on Camino Capistrano.

The estimated cost for design and construction of the city project is $115,000. The funds will pay for the courts themselves, along with the installation of chain-link fencing around the courts in Cook La Novia Park, new benches for seating, new posts, netting and pickleball court striping.
