Powerball Winning Numbers Wednesday, 04/12/2017

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CA — You can't win if you don't play, and this week, the Powerball jackpot reached $60 million. That's not the largest Powerball amount ever offered, but it is a nice chunk of change.

There were no tickets sold with all six numbers in Wednesday evening's drawing of the multi-state Powerball lottery and the estimated jackpot for Saturday's drawing is expected to grow to $70 million. A ticket with five numbers, but missing the Powerball number, was sold in Florida and was worth $1 million, the Multi-State Lottery Association, which conducts the game, announced.

Winning Powerball Numbers for April 12:

8, 14, 61, 63, 68, with Powerball number 24, with 2X powerplay

The estimated jackpot was $60 million. The drawing was the third since the last time a ticket with all six numbers was sold.

The lump-sum cash payout for Wednesday's Powerball drawing would have been worth an estimated $36.9 million.

Next Powerball Drawing will be held Saturday, April 15. Powerball® tickets are available at any California Lottery® retailer before ticket sales end at 7 p.m.

The odds of matching all five numbers and the Powerball number is 1 in about 293 million, according to the Powerball website. The overall chance of winning a prize is 1 in 24.87.

How to Pick Winning Powerball Numbers

You have a better chance of hitting the jackpot if you let the computer pick your numbers. The Multi-State Lottery Association, which operates the Powerball game, says about 75 percent of winning tickets are selected when the numbers are chosen by a computer.

Drawings are every Wednesday and Saturday. Powerball is played in Illinois, 43 other states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
