Rancho Mission Viejo Spearheads Community Wellness Initiative

Rancho Mission Viejo is working with the Global Wellness Institute on a new initiative that prioritizes wellness in communities.

SAN JUAN CAPSTRANO, CA — A new development has hit south Orange County, and we aren't talking about real estate. Not necessarily, anyway. The community of Rancho Mission Viejo partnered with the Global Wellness Institute to power an initiative focused on creating healthier communities worldwide.

The new "Wellness Communities & Real Estate Initiative" marks the first-ever collaborative effort between these two organizations.

The initiative is designed to identify elements that have the greatest potential to impact wellness in community design and development. Through land plans, facility designs and complementary programming, the initiative seeks to find what works best for promoting wellness in communities worldwide.

“The Ranch has been intentionally developed on a foundation of wellbeing for decades,” said Kris Maher, senior vice president of community design for Rancho Mission Viejo in a news release. “The natural habitat and incomparable access to nature, thoughtfully planned amenities, social programming and experiences, which include community farms and gardens, provide opportunities to pursue all dimensions of wellbeing at every age and stage of life.
