INDIO, CA - "The Desert Trip," featuring a sextet of legendary classic rock acts is on, and it's happening in just five months' time, promoters announced Tuesday.

It's all set for Oct. 7-9 at the Empire Polo Club in Indio-- the same venue where the Coachella and Stagecoach music festivals are annually held.

The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Paul McCartney, Neil Young, The Who and former Pink Floyd frontman Roger Waters are among the confirmed performers.

"With performances starting after sunset, each artist will play a full set, serving up three incomparable nights of rock ‘n roll," organizers announced. "Located at the home of the critically acclaimed Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival this is the only time and place to see this incredible lineup."

Dylan and The Rolling Stones are set to perform on the first night; McCartney and Young, with his brother Lukas' band, Promise of the Real, on the second night; and Waters and The Who closing out the festival.

Tickets go on sale Monday, May 9, at 10 a.m., with prices as follows:

  • 3 day passes

General admission - $399

Ticket purchase support can be reached at (855) 414-6340 or at support@festivalticketing.com .

Though the pricing plans are similar to the recent Coachella and Stagecoach festivals, Desert Trip won't be all-day affairs. Instead, the Polo Grounds will open each day at 2 p.m. Set times will be released at a later date, and there will be no opening acts.

Similar to the other festivals, though, attendees can tent or RV camp.

This isn't the first time Goldenvoice has hosted a third festival in the fall-- back in 2010, the organizers put on a Phish concert.
