SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CAโ€”Sports is a universal language between fathers and daughters, at least, for the The Capo Girls Softball League. This group of volunteers has opened their sign ups for their fall season. This group of committed coaches and support staff aims to teach individual girls into becoming team players who are challenged in their athletic ability both physically and mentally, according to their website.

Good sportsmanship, good conduct, and strong commitment from players, coaches, managers and families is of utmost importance to this group who has guided champions into play, both on and off the field.

"Our Fall Rec program is competitive, but focuses more on player development," the website states. "It is a lesser time commitment then Fall Select and is a great program for beginners as well as experienced players looking to improve on there skills in preparation for the upcoming Spring Season."

The recreational league is ideal for learning game fundamentals according to the site.

According to the Capo Girls league, they are one of several throughout south Orange County who participate in inter-league Select Fall Ball for 8U to 12U players.

'Fall Select is a more competitive alternative to our Rec program and is best suited for players with prior softball experience looking for a higher level of playing. Fall Select teams typically play double-headers every weekend as well as at least two tournaments throughout the season."

Girls of all skill levels are encouraged to sign up, according to the league. Team selection is made in the later part of August and Opening Day is in early September.

"Our primary fields are at the beautiful Cooks park in San Juan Capistrano. Click here for directions, and see the league images page for pictures of the park.
