San Juan Capistrano Resident Awarded Biola's Highest Scholarship
Alexander White, a freshman at Biola, was one of 338 who received the highest scholarship the university has to offer.

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CA — Biola University Freshman Alexander White, a resident of San Juan Capistrano, was among 338 first-year students who received one of the college's highest scholarships - the President's or Provost's scholarship - for the 2020/2021 academic year
White is studying Bible, Theology, and Ministry at Biola.
According to a Biola University spokesperson, students who receive either scholarship have achieved a high level of academic excellence.
Freshmen students are eligible for the President's and Provost's scholarship - $20,000 and $19,000 per year, respectively - if, upon entering the university, they meet the scholarship requirements.

Scholarship consideration includes a combination of GPA and SAT, both math and English, scores. According to Biola's admissions department, recipients of the President's scholarship have a minimum GPA of 3.88 and an SAT composite score of 1340.
Recipients of the Provost's scholarship have a minimum GPA of 3.87 and an SAT composite score of 1120.

Students must maintain a GPA of 3.2 while taking Biola courses to receive the scholarship the following year.
Biola students attended classes remotely this fall through "Biola at Home" - Biola's new digital experience of a Biola education. The core strengths of Biola's excellent education has been made available in new ways as Biola provides the same services students enjoy on campus in a new format.
