San Juan Capistrano School District College Fair this Week

Capo School District announces a College Fair on Sept. 15. Knowing where you are going can alleviate senior stress according to the district

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CA — The second annual CUSD College Fair at San Juan High will take place on Sept. 15. This is a critical event for high school seniors, according to the school district.

"Major decisions must be made about the future. Graduation will open the door to lots of options and opportunities, but students have a hard time knowing what to pursue and how to get started. Many seniors feel overwhelmed by the volume of choices and questions," they said in recent release.

CUSD and the Capistrano Unified Council PTSA expects the college fair to be an evening full of answers.

On Thursday, September 15th, more than 125 college and career representatives will gather at San Juan Hills High School to share information with CUSD high school students. Undecided on which school to apply for, or whether you want to study abroad?

"The event includes admissions teams from east coast universities like Harvard, and Cornell; military academies like West Point; local private colleges like Chapman, Vanguard and Biola; public schools in the Cal State and UC systems; design programs like FIDM; and international schools like Franklin University in Switzerland," they said.

In addition to talking directly with representatives, students and their parents can learn valuable admissions information by attending the College Fair.

"The evening will offer sessions on maximizing SAT/ACT scores, paying for college expenses, handling athletic college recruiters, and transferring from a community college to a four-year institution," they said.

Nothing can compare to the insight gained by personally interacting with college admissions professionals. The fair offers everything seniors need, in one place, at one time. Don't miss out on invaluable guidance; visit the San Juan Hills High School gymnasium from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, September 15, 2016.

Parking is suggested at SJHHS or avoid the crowds by parking at Ladera Ranch Middle School and riding a free shuttle to the high school.

"Tensions may be rising, but the College Fair is the perfect antidote to senior stress," they said. "Last year's College Fair brought nearly 5,000 students and families. We are looking so forward to this year."
