San Juan Residents Say 'No' To Cell Tower

On an unassuming cul de sac in San Juan Capistrano a monstrous structure has taken shape. These South County homeowners are just saying NO!

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CA — A resident reached out to friends and neighbors about the construction of a cellular tower on Del Obispo in San Juan Capistrano.

"It’s only a few feet from homes, schools and churches," she told us.

Wanting to take action, a group calling themselves the "Concerned Citizens of San Juan Capistrano" are doing something about it.

A petition began circling the web this week in an effort to tell the SJC City Council that they don't want a cell phone tower on their street. By this report, the petition, has been signed by nearly 500 concerned residents.

It states:

"Protect our community from the negative health impacts of a cell tower built only feet away from homes, churches, schools, and an assisted living facility," they said. "Children are especially susceptible to the damaging effects of the radiation given off by wireless facilities."

Patch is attempting to reach out to the City Council and Verizon regarding the structure, it's need in the community and what can be done about it!
